• • alpha-1 adrenergic receptor blocker

    • inhibits the binding of norepinephrine to alpha-1 receptors on the membrane of vascular smooth muscle cells.

  • Relaxed vascular smooth muscle tone (vasodilation) decreases peripheral vascular resistance, leading to decreased blood pressure.
